Reference Kirschmann, Gayla & John. (1996). Nutrition Almanac, 4th ed. New York: McGraw - Hill. (Primary focus of this book is on healing through diet. A great comprehensive index is found at the back, listing mineral, vitamin, amino acids etc. for nearly every food item including processed foods.) Norman, Jill. (1990). The Complete Book of Spices: A practical guide to spices & aromatic seeds. Montreal: Reader's Digest Association (Canada) Ltd. (Has a number of recipes, although mainly a reference for spices, their origins, and their uses. Photographs and drawings are good enough to make this a coffee table book. Excellent.) *Not vegetarian Schneider, Elizabeth. (1986). Uncommon Fruits & Vegetables: A common- sense guide. New York: Harper & Row Publishers Inc. (Nice drawings of the most bizarre and rare plant foods in the world. Describes optimal appearance along with seasonality and where you might find them, as well as what to do with them when you do.) *Not vegetarian (recommends meat dishes) © 1999-2004 KL Projects
